You may think they met and fell in love here due to the 2 entirely different condition's they came in! However, this is painfully not the case. They came together and have lived together all of their lives. They had the same owners and the same place to live. The only thing different for these 2 donkeys is paperwork.
Yes, you read that correctly. Lady is a "fancy" breed and her papers prove it. This makes her valuable for breeding. This apparently makes her valuable enough to be fed sufficiently and cared for. Tramp, however, had no papers and is not a desirable breed and he was not worthy of the care and food that Lady had.
Honestly, I don't know who had it worse. Tramp arrived with open wounds, and injuries, in pain and barely touchable. However, Lady had been used time and time again for breeding. Her babies were taken away and sold on then bred again.
Fortunately, as soon as they came to us everything changed and their future is far more important than their past. They are still in love and are totally different donkeys these days. Friendly, happy with no wounds, full bellies and no more babies!
