For four years, Toby lived on a finca—but not the kind where dogs run free. He was just another dog in the background, never really wanted, never really loved. When new dogs arrived and attacked him, his owners didn’t step in. Instead, they put him on the roof and left him there, alone. Day after day, night after night. Until the neighbours finally convinced them to give him up.
That’s when Toby came to us. And just when we thought he was safe, we unfortunately received news that Toby has heartworm. The treatment is long and exhausting, but the good news is we will cover all costs. What Toby really needs now is a loving home to help him through it. Because love matters. And for Toby, a safe, calm place could make all the difference in his recovery.
He’s also just been castrated so we’re hopeful that, as his hormones settle, he’ll feel more at ease. He’s good with most dogs, but too many overwhelm him, and he can’t live with chickens. That means as long as he stays with us, he’ll unfortunately have to live in a cage. But he deserves so much more than this. Toby is looking for his forever home, his second chance. He doesn’t need much—just someone to love him. A quiet home, a cosy bed, a person who won’t see him as a burden, but as a soul who’s been waiting far too long for kindness. Could you be that person?
Please get in contact if you're interested in fostering or adopting Toby!
His treatment is fully covered—but it’s extremely expensive. If you can’t adopt, you could sponsor Toby or donate toward his care!
